When Jesus spoke to the people again, he said: I am the light of the world; anyone who follows me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

More than thirty parishioners have now participated in a Light of the World Retreat! Our next retreat weekend will be March 5-7, 2010.

This past weekend Retreat was a milestone in our St. Patrick Parish History. A significant group of adult parishioners, of all ages and vocations, set aside Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday to experience spiritual renewal. Archbishop Naumann has called us to conversion and evangelization. Conversion means to turn our lives over to Jesus Christ and to experience His peace and joy.

Evangelization is the way we share our Faith with others, through word and example. Without exception every participant said this weekend was a tremendous experience PERSONALLY. It was also a tremendous blessing for our PARISH.

Each participant was an adult who grew in sacramental life, in understanding of our Faith, and in commitment to live our Faith generously and with love. Each participant was encouraged to let the Light of the World blessings and graces lead him or her daily during the week so that we have special gifts to bring to Jesus, our King, at Mass this Sunday on the Solemnity of Christ the King. Then, this Sunday will enrich us for living closer to Jesus and our family and friends and co-workers this coming week in all we say and do. I thank all whose prayers and work made the Light of the World weekend possible.  In Christ, Monsignor Mike
