Giving to God

(and to LOTWEM)

Jesus looked up and saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury; and He noticed a poor widow put in two small coins. He said, "I tell you truly, this poor widow has put in more than the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood." (Lk 21:1-4)

Every one of God’s children is called to grow closer to our Lord through sacrificial giving. It is not a burdensome task, but a joyful opportunity for spiritual growth. As a ministry seeking to evangelize all in the name of our Triune God, it is incumbent upon Light of the World Evangelization Ministry to teach sacrificial giving.  As a ministry that is completely dependant upon donations for its existence, teaching sacrificial giving is also a necessity.

As part of its ministry, LOTWEM seeks to bring people to a greater understanding of the biblical teachings regarding giving and the spiritual fruits to born there from. It hopes to shed light upon the confusion surrounding the biblical concepts of “tithing,” “sacrificial giving” and “stewardship.  LOTWEM seeks to promote spiritually inspired financial support for the Church (parishes, dioceses and ministries such as LOTWEM) and for the needy.
